Heartbeat Sized Poems
Heartbeat Sized Poems - haikus - for Highly Sensitive People
Each week, in the sensitive coach’s pHiloSoPhy, I exclusively share a sweet haiku to simply be enjoyed in a fleeting precious micro pause, or savoured during a meandering moment as a writing prompt, or to be bathed in for longer in a space to journal whatever it ripples in you.
These haikus are from my forthcoming little book, Heartbeat Sized Poems - haikus - for Highly Sensitive People, due to be published this year. As a Subscriber you’ll be the first to receive these each week into your inbox, as well as the first to hear when the book is launched. If you haven’t already, be sure to subscribe here so you don’t miss out:
I hope you enjoy them as much as I took pleasure in the moments when I wrote them…
Summer 2026
Coming later this year as the seasons always do…
Spring 2026
Pastel pinks and blues
This pure newborn sky
Mother nature brings new life
The air thick with spring perfume
Dizzy in love with your scent
Sweet bird cherry tree blossom
Daisies tight and snug
It can’t be time to get up
Peeking out from soft petals
Forget-me-nots quietly wait
So pretty by the gate
Three years have blurred in a blink
Heavy full pompoms
The palest of pinks
The crown of the Cherry tree
Sweet fallen blossom scattered
Like hungrily spilled popcorn
Nature the leading lady star
Bluebells gently ring
Shake raindrops loose from their chins
Roots sigh a quenched deep breath
Grass smells warm, so sweet
Bright yellow dandelions
Spring eases my bones
Polkadot petal path
Blossom falling flutters
Spring’s celebration
Frilly yellow trumpets sing
Of this new bright day
To the birth of spring
Hello sleepy fox
What’s happened to your tail
Another tale, I wonder
Winter 2025/26
First blossom petals pop
A popcorn kernel
A delicious taste of spring
A little nod of yellow
Sleepy daffodil stretch, yawn
Where is winter going next
If this drip drops, plops
And everything stops
Will it taste of rose water scent
Winters parting gift
Sweet snowdrops nod
And give me such hope
Skeleton flowers
Held, still, by winter
A moment in time
Who am I becoming next
Soon I will be a snowdrop
Winter, still, is full of growth
Icing sugar dusted leaves
Pretty frost of winter
Licks splits their jagged edges
Water standing still
Each drop gripping tight
A mid-winter frozen spell
Bluey grey something silver
Leaves last sighing breath
Let go, you are safe
This December love and pain
Begins a low winter hush
The grief cave behind my ribs
The sun licks edges
of trees, leaves burnt gold
Tastes the hope of dawn, this day
We get to have this new day
Blushed the pink tinged winter sky
Thank goodness breathed the soft sigh
Mistletoe berries, pearls wink
Cold blue lips touch, taste, tingle
Love, warm, trickles down fingertips
Autumn 2025
My eyes can’t find you
Only my ears, hear sweet robins
Sent to say I am still here
Green holly and pine
Step forward in time
Autumn’s deep breath lets go
Holding on tight for dear life
The last leaf to fall
Twirling down to your next life
Kicking leaves swish swosh
Cheeks blush with frost’s touch
Letting go of feeling lost
The rising sun’s gentle kiss
Caressing the tips of trees
I’m in sweet love with pink clouds
Yellow love hearts everywhere
Autumn’s kiss on our dry lips
I feel you inside me now
Mushrooms for breakfast
A feast for the eyes
Fairies and fun, such surprise
Leaves like dragon tongues
Full of fire and breath
A final gasp for this life
